While Friended is a fun place to connect and chat with new people, there is always a risk when talking with someone online. We are constantly improving our moderation system to maintain a great community for you. However, no system is perfect. It's important to protect yourself from anyone who may be a spammer in the community.
Here are a few signs to look out for:
1. The person may ask to move to a different platform, such as Google Hangouts, WhatsApp, or Snapchat, sometimes very early in the conversation. Please be certain you have a good sense of who this person is before moving off Friended to chat. We can only help you while you are on Friended. Don't give out your contact info unless you are really sure you know the person you are talking to.
2. Ask yourself if the flow of the conversation feels natural. If it feels awkward, uncomfortable, or forced, be cautious about who this person may be. Many spammers will ask the question along the lines of "what are you seeking for?" or ask you for information that is easily accessible from your profile. Users like this are often not real people looking to connect.
3. Please beware of anyone who asks for money or help. Friended is not a marketplace for anyone to buy or sell goods or services. Anyone who asks for money should be reported.
If you encounter any user who fits the above criteria, please report them immediately to us by either tapping the flag icon in the top right corner of a chat thread and then tapping Report, or by reporting the user directly to support@friended.com with any information you have.
